THE OPPORTUNITY

We're expanding our U.S. presence and hiring a driven, resourceful, high-performing Senior SMB & Mid-Market Account Executive for our Client Sales team in New York. This is a hybrid role with 1-2 days onsite in our New York City office.

This is a full-cycle, quota-carrying role owning new business acquisition across the Small-to-Midsize Business (SMB) and mid-market segments. Operate independently, close our more complex deals, set the standard for peers, and work closely with leadership on how we sell and grow in the region.

Ideal for a proactive, seasoned seller who builds their own pipeline, owns a book like a business, and raises the bar for the team.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: Manage deals end-to-end—from high-volume outbound prospecting and discovery through demo, negotiation, close, and post-sale client implementation—across SMB and mid-market accounts, including complex, multi-stakeholder, and custom-priced deals. Guide customers to close as the facilitator across multiple decision-makers, negotiating mutually beneficial terms and applying discounts strategically.
  • Build and Convert Pipeline: Source new opportunities through outbound (calls, email, social) and inbound channels. Identify territory or pipeline gaps early and execute a clear plan to address them before quota is at risk. Cultivate a strong referral network that drives proactive prospect inquiries.
  • Engage Senior Stakeholders: Navigate multi-threaded sales cycles and build trusted relationships with decision-makers across HR, People, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Deliver Value-Driven Selling: Uncover customer pain points and position Wellhub as a strategic solution—even for prospects without an established budget or immediate need. Leverage deep knowledge of the competitive landscape and our differentiators to challenge and educate buyers.
  • Execute with Consistency: Meet and exceed segment-adjusted quarterly quota. Perform at a high level against team sales metrics, peers, and regional benchmarks through disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and strict adherence to the sales process.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Marketing, Legal, Sales Development, Client Success, and Programs to ensure a seamless handoff and customer journey.
  • Lead by Example: Share best practices, live call insights, and market trends with the broader SMB team. Mentor newer teammates, document repeatable pipeline-management routines, and propose improvements to our sales process and playbooks. Present ideas to leadership, offer thoughtful perspectives, help test new regional approaches, and flag risks early to solve them collaboratively.
  • Live the Mission: Care for personal wellbeing and colleagues' wellbeing, and help build a supportive environment where work-life wellness thrives.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Proven Sales Performer: 4+ years of B2B sales experience in full-cycle or closing roles, with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota in fast-paced SaaS, HR Tech, or tech-enabled environments.
  • SMB and Mid-Market experience: Experience selling into both segments, with a proven ability to manage longer, multi-stakeholder cycles, custom pricing, and executive-level conversations.
  • Proactive Prospector: Energized by outbound prospecting and committed to the daily discipline of building pipeline. Demonstrates resilience and high drive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Autonomous Operator: Takes full ownership of activity, territory planning, and forecasting, identifying pipeline risks before they impact results.
  • Strategic Partner: Engages leadership for high-level strategy, complex deal positioning, and long-term growth rather than requiring day-to-day oversight.
  • Exceptional Communicator: Communicates with empathy and high emotional intelligence across polished, precise written and verbal channels. Conducts impactful discovery calls, uncovers critical business needs, and aligns solutions to client outcomes.
  • Ownership Mindset: Operates with high humility and accountability across both wins and losses. Takes ownership of mistakes, actively seeks and incorporates feedback, and approaches every challenge with a coachable, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Tech-Enabled Professional: Proficient in Salesforce and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft). Maintains accurate, real-time CRM data, forecasts with discipline, and utilizes AI to research and evaluate deals while validating outputs prior to execution.
  • Driven and Collaborative: Pairs a competitive spirit with a team-first mindset and genuine excitement for Wellhub's mission to bring wellbeing to the workplace.
