Role Scope:
This is an opportunity for a mission-driven leader who is passionate about attending to the daily living and safety needs of PACE participants. The PCA Supervisor at the PACE Center oversees the daily operations of the Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) who provide services in the PACE center, in specialty care settings, and in the home. This position ensures high-quality, person-centered care in alignment with PACE standards and regulatory guidelines. The PCA Supervisor provides scheduling, supervision, performance evaluation, and support for PCA staff while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team members to promote participant independence, well-being, and ensure participants’ physical, social, emotional, and recreational needs are met.

- Collaborate with the Center Manager to ensure onboarding, training, and mentoring of PCA staff in order to deliver high-quality care.
- Supervise and manage a team of PCAs, ensuring timely and effective delivery of personal care services.
- Oversee PCA performance management and provide feedback as necessary to ensure competency and compliance, including any disciplinary actions and performance evaluations for PCA staff.
- Provide supervision, support, and coaching to PCA staff on the Day Center floor during delivery of services.
- Develop and maintain staffing schedules and assignment of duties.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT) to assess participant needs and update care plans.
- Support a culture of safety, dignity and respect for all PACE participants and staff.
- Ensures timely completion of all PCA staff documentation, including progress notes, grievances and SDR’s aligned with regulatory timeline requirements.
- Order supplies to support with PCA staff daily duties
- Meets participant’s personal hygiene and basic needs in a timely and caring manner.
- As needed, willing to step in and support team with direct care, including:
- Assists participants with activities of daily living, such as feeding, ambulation and other activities.
- Maintains clinical and age specific competencies as defined for the assigned.
- Collects data and records activity and participant care information on appropriate forms. Ensures that information is accurate, timely and recorded according to established guidelines.
- Provides participant instruction related to safety factors conducive to their care plan and recovery; demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.
- On occasion, provides homemaking services in the home including preparing and serving meals and snacks according to specified nutritional needs and dietary restrictions as outlined on the plan of care. Performs light housekeeping tasks as outlined on plan of care including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, taking out trash, washing dishes and doing laundry.
- On occasion, accompany participants for outside appointments.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification.
- High School diploma/GED
- Knowledge of PACE program.
- Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment.
- Knowledge of physical, mental, and social needs of frail older adults.
- Able to manage changing priorities per participant needs.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work with participants, caregivers, and staff.
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to be self-directed and able to work independently.
- Requires physical strength to perform essential functions of the job (i.e. assist participants with mobility challenges).
- A minimum of two year experience working with the frail or elderly.
- A minimum of two years in a supervisory position.
- Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases, including a TB test.
- Proof of all immunizations are up to date.
- Proof of current CPR/BLS certification required or requirement to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Proof of valid CA driver’s license, personal transportation, good driving record and auto insurance as required by State law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese preferred.
- A state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law.

Compensation:
We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $24 - $29/hour. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
