HaiLa is building ultra low power radio communications solutions that will eliminate the need for batteries in wireless communication devices by offering a product that is hyper power efficient that can run indefinitely from harvested energy.  Our mission is to enable Ambient Power IoT with sensing everywhere on existing protocols such as Wi-Fi.

As the primary digital verification engineer, you will be joining a small but dynamic team of analog, digital and firmware engineers working on the next generation of HaiLa’s WiFi backscattering devices. You will be working closely with the designers to understand all the functional requirements of the product, and will be responsible for ensuring that the design meets those requirements. The team being small, the tasks and responsibilities will be varied and will likely expand beyond digital verification.

Based in Montreal, HaiLa is supported by leading sustainability-focused venture investors as well as Stanford University.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creation of the verification plan and tracking of progress against it
• Creation of testbenches and test cases, both at the block and top-level
• Regression management
• Working with designers for debugging and fixing of issues

Required skills:

• Advanced knowledge of SystemVerilog
• Experience with UVM
• Experience with Jira, Git and CI/CD
• Familiarity with various programming and scripting languages (Python, TCL, C, make, etc.)
• Experience with gate-level simulations
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Resourcefulness and curiosity
