Head of Product Design

 As Head of Product Design, you'll be responsible for the team translating user experience into delightful visuals. This includes helping scale & build our global design principles, usability, Design Systems and standards to ensure consistency in how our HALA products are presented to our customers.  Ultimately, you’ll create visually appealing features that address our customers' needs. You will use your creativity and eye for design & details – along with your technical knowledge – to develop great enjoyable experiences. You'll work with product managers, UX researchers and the development team. Together you'll deliver UI mockups, prototypes, MVPs and final products. In this role, you'll translate user needs into user-friendly designs and have a direct impact on the customer's user-experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the design strategy for how we provide our customers with easy to use, seamless and consistent product interfaces that incorporate our Design Systems & Product Principals
• Collaborate closely with Product and Technology management and leadership to ensure alignment in strategy, collaboration in execution and overall effective use of design resources, including impact and ROI.
• Contribute to our HALA product design principles and usability for the business, ensuring consistency in how our products are presented to customers through our different platforms.
• Maintain ownership of the product visuals according to the business goals of each design request and pushing back on stakeholders with innovative UI proposals.
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, UX researchers and engineers.
• Design and prototype elegant solutions for web and mobile apps following brand and design guidelines.
• Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
• Identify, troubleshoot and provide UX solutions (e.g. responsiveness)
• Combine UX thinking with design execution, to produce usable and intuitive user interfaces.
• Conduct usability testing & Heuristic evaluations

Requirements

• 8+ years of Design and UX leadership experience within digital products (100,000+ visitors per day), preferably fintech or marketplace companies.
•  A portfolio of professional design projects that includes work for web / mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of design principles interactions.
• Excellent command of contemporary design tools including Figma, Adobe InDesign and illustrator.
• Creative and analytical approach.
• Very high attention to detail and a user-centric & Problem-solving mindset
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work on own initiative within set guidelines and as part of a team.
• The ability to build relationships and influence others based on sound professional knowledge.
• Previous experience with leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
• Deep understanding of design guidelines for application interfaces (Web, iOS, Android).
