The Role:

Halcyon’s goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that breaks new ground as to what a security product can deliver.  Aligned with this goal, Halcyon is searching for a high energy consultant to deliver cybersecurity services based on our product. Halcyon’s primary focus is to develop engagements and tooling to provide advisory services to assist clients prevent ransomware attacks. Service catalogue includes ransomware readiness assessments, assumed breach simulations, and hardening exercises. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver high touch customer service while leveraging technical skills in fast paced projects to clients. The ideal candidate will be able to independently lead and execute projects and work in a fast growing services practice.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communication:

    • Coordinate with employees and executives at client to facilitate all components of Halcyon’s project methodology

    • Create and provide reporting and status updates to a diverse set of stakeholders on a regular basis

    • Represent Halcyon externally through presentations and outbriefs with client executive teams including a diverse group of insurance, incident response, client executive, and technical staff

  • Technical:

    • Experience executing any or multiple types of security engagements:

      • Assumed breach simulations, penetration tests, or red teaming

      • Digital forensics and incident response

    • Assess and develop cybersecurity programs to help mature the security posture of organizations prior to an incident.

    • Produce and ensure delivery of high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, recommendations, and findings to customer management.

    • Implements and understands the management of a virtualization solutions including but not limited to: ESXi, HyperV, VirtualBox, etc…

    • Installing, configuring, and administering network technologies or protocols including RDP, SSH, DCHP, DNS, proxies, etc…

  • Collaboration:

    • Lead large and strategic advisory service engagements, engaging with executive-level individuals across a wide range of industries

    • Work closely with Halcyon’s engineering team to provide feedback on Halcyon tools and technologies for product enhancements

    • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff for engagements

    • Engage in some degree of sales and business development opportunities

    • Support staffing and scheduling of team members to enable engagements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in one or more of the following roles with 8-10 years of experience:

    • Security Analysis / Operations: you’ve held principal delivery roles on teams that focus on technical security functions (such as SOCs, IR teams, red team, etc…). You are an exceptional practitioner of security and have core skills that can be valuable to clients in maturing their program

    • Security Program Development: you’ve personally contributed to the development and implementation of security controls, helping organization build or enhance a forward leaning security program. This may include aspects of developing a SOC, threat intelligence, offensive security, security testing, or incident response functions

    • IT / Security Management Consulting: you’ve held positions and owned relationships with organizational executives as a management or technical consultant. You’ve worked on a range of infosec domains, including both technical cyber security (applying controls, improving architectures, etc.) and operational cyber security areas

  • Qualities

    • Strong customer service focus, with the ability to communicate with highly technical management teams

    • Must prioritize and direct multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

    • A willingness to lead by example and participate actively in the workload

    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

    • Maintains a positive attitude and quickly adapts to change

Bonus Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a penetration tester or other offensive security professional

  • Experience as an incident responder with examples of cases handled and their outcomes

  • Coding skills in python with examples of projects and how they contributed to your past roles

 

This role features a lifestyle that is capable of traveling on short notice to a client site up to 50% of the Monday-Friday working days within a year. Historic rates have shown travel utilization of less than 25% in the past 12 months but the flexibility to be able to travel frequently within 24-48 hours notice is a must.

Total Salary Range: $150K-$225K commensurate with experience

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
