The Role:
Halcyon’s goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that redefines what a security product can do. We’re looking for an experienced engineer to support both the development and long-term maintenance of our Windows, Linux, and macOS agents—key components of the Halcyon Anti-Ransomware platform. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the effectiveness and resilience of our core security technology.
Responsibilities:

Diagnose and triage customer issues: analyze logs, core dumps, and diagnostic data to identify root causes and drive timely resolutions.

Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with customer support, sales teams, product management, and engineering teams to resolve customer issues, improve product quality, and ensure seamless integration across components.

Multi-platform code development: write code that transforms messages, processes data, communicates over IPC channels, interfaces with components in different languages, and interacts with Web APIs.

Optimization and profiling: use profiling tools to optimize code performance.

Test and maintain code quality: write unit and integration tests, adhering to consistent coding styles and architectural guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:

Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug complex systems effectively.

Proficiency with debugging tools such as lldb, gdb, and/or windbg.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to develop high-quality code in C++; experience with Rust is heavily preferred.

Strong knowledge of macOS, Windows, and/or Linux operating systems.

Familiarity with SQL.
Bonus Skills and Qualifications:

Experience with additional programming languages such as Python.

Knowledge of macOS, Linux, or Windows kernel internals.

Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $220,000
Bonus Range: 10%
In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
