Halcyon is the industry’s first dedicated, adaptive security platform that combines multiple proprietary advanced prevention engines along with AI models focused specifically on stopping ransomware.

Who we are:
Halcyon was formed in 2021 by a team of cyber industry veterans after battling the scourge of ransomware (and advanced threats) for years at some of the largest global security vendors. Comprised of leaders from Cylance (now Blackberry), Accuvant (now Optiv), Fireye and ISS X-Force (now IBM), Halcyon is focused on building products and solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Federal Principal Solutions Architect to serve as a foundational member of Halcyon’s federal business. This is a hands-on technical role with future growth potential—our expectation is that as the federal business expands, this position will evolve into a leadership role overseeing a dedicated team of Solutions Architects.

As the first Principal Federal SA, you will spend the majority of your time directly supporting high-impact Federal sales opportunities, delivering technical demos, running POCs, and engaging on customer escalations. At the same time, you will help lay the groundwork for how Halcyon supports Federal accounts at scale by creating repeatable processes, shaping technical field standards, and partnering with Sales leadership to drive federal go-to-market strategy.
This is a unique opportunity to help build our Federal entity from the ground up, while positioning yourself to lead the team as it grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical expert supporting Federal sales opportunities, POCs, and escalations.
  • Deliver compelling demos, presentations, and technical validation sessions to federal customers.
  • Develop and standardize processes for POCs, technical validations, and field readiness specific to Federal accounts.
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to align technical support with regional quotas and federal growth goals.
  • Establish best practices and initial training content for future Solutions Architect hires.
  • Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams on federal customer requirements and emerging threats.
  • Maintain deep expertise in endpoint security, incident response, and ransomware resilience to guide customer conversations.
  • Travel domestically up to 40% to support federal customer engagements; ability to travel on short notice as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in cybersecurity roles, with significant experience supporting federal customers in a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or similar role.
  • Hands-on expertise in Endpoint Security / EDR, Incident Response, and the Ransomware lifecycle.
  • Strong technical sales skills, including demo delivery, proof-of-concept execution, and escalation handling.
  • Ability to operate in an unstructured, startup-like environment and help build processes from the ground up.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Leadership potential—interest in coaching, mentoring, and scaling a federal-focused SA team as the business grows.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent are a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship and possession of (or ability to obtain) a Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to be in-office at least once per week.

Benefits:

Halcyon offers the following benefits to eligible employees:

  • Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents.
  • Short and long-term disability coverage, basic life and AD&D insurance plans.
  • Medical and dependent care FSA options.
  • 401k plan with a generous employer contribution.
  • Flexible PTO policy.
  • Parental leave.
  • Generous equity offering.
The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.

Base Salary Range: $200,000-$250,000 + additional compensation

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
