The Role
 
Halcyon's goal is to deliver an anti-ransomware solution that breaks new ground in what a security product can achieve. Aligned with this mission, we're hiring a Product Security Manager to lead our product security efforts and ensure our defenses are robust, tested, and customer-ready. This role bridges technical security expertise with customer engagement and cross-functional coordination.
 
Responsibilities
 
Security Leadership & Customer Engagement
  • Interface directly with customers on security issues, assessments, and remediation strategies
  • Build and maintain security testing frameworks while mentoring team members on security best practices
  • Prioritize and coordinate remediation of identified security issues across product and engineering teams
Product Vulnerability Management & Coordination
  • Oversee security testing initiatives including fuzzing, penetration testing, and red-team/vulnerability assessments
  • Coordinate with domain engineering, malware research, and quant teams on security findings
  • Drive root-cause analysis and ensure comprehensive remediation of security issues
Technical Oversight & Strategy
  • Guide implementation of security test harnesses and automated vulnerability discovery tools
  • Review and validate security findings from both internal testing and external reports
  • Balance hands-on technical contribution with growing team leadership responsibilities
Skills & Qualifications
  • 8+ years in product security, security engineering, or security-focused roles with progression into leadership
  • Deep Windows internals knowledge combined with broader security architecture experience
  • Understanding of fuzzing frameworks, vulnerability research methodologies, and security testing tools
  • Experience interfacing with enterprise customers on security topics and translating technical issues for various audiences
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python, with ability to review and guide security-critical code
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple technical teams and drive consensus on remediation priorities
  • Experience building or managing security testing infrastructure and processes
Bonus Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in anti-malware, EDR, or endpoint security products
  • Track record of building and scaling security teams from player-coach to dedicated manager
  • Experience in product security consulting function leading customer engagements
  • Published research or tools in the security community
  • Experience in Rust programming language
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD security integration and DevSecOps practices

Base Salary Range: $225,000 - $250,000
 

 

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
