About the Role

We are seeking an Accounting Services Supervisor to join our Client Accounting + Advisory Services team in Baton Rouge, LA! This individual will oversee our accounting services (AS) by leading our internal bookkeeping team and acting as the liaison between clients and team members.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage & maintain Botkeeper clients, relationships, & billing
  • Assign, manage, & train interns/new staff on recurring AS work
  • Review monthly/quarterly work including sales tax, bookkeeping & payroll quarterlies
  • Communicate with management regularly on the status of staff & software relationships
  • Consult with tax & other office locations on new clients for AS work
  • Verify & enter details of transactions as they occur in a computerized accounting system
  • Reconcile & balance accounts, including cash, AP, AR, & credit cards
  • Prepare or review sales tax returns for various states, parishes, & counties
  • Prepare or review bank reconciliations monthly
  • Compile reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable & receivable, profit & loss, & other items pertinent to business operations
  • Research accounts payable & accounts receivable issues as needed
  • Prepare or review monthly workpapers & financial statements for clients
  • Track overdue client accounts & perform collection efforts as requested by partners & managers
  • Travel & assist clients on-site as needed
  • Analyze general ledger accounts & recommend adjustments as needed
  • Develop in-house CPE training sessions
  • Train seasonal interns & delegate work

Education, Experience & Certifications                                 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active CPA License preferred but not required
