About the Role

The Tax Senior performs a wide variety of work assigned with a minimum of assistance.  They are able to complete assigned areas of increasing complexity and, when problems arise, outline them for management and then act on advice. They are able to adhere to time budgets on jobs assigned and display professional conduct. They may lead Staff Accountants and assist in their training, displaying confidence and ease in the presence of staff and client representatives. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Performs diversified accounting and tax assignments under the direction of a Senior, Manager and/or Partner
• Possesses knowledge of tax regulations in order to answer clients' questions
• Prepares personal, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp returns of increasing complexity
• Responds to tax notices of any sort and prepares initial drafts of letters required
• Performs tax research projects requiring minimal expertise
• Prepares tax accruals as may be required in preparing corporate tax returns
• Begins to demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards
• Meets time constraints and client deadlines
• Participates in tax planning and projections
• Becomes proficient in using the firm's software programs and prepares other reports, projects, and duties as may be assigned
• Begins acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty

Education, Experience, & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
• Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Active CPA License is a plus, candidates pursuing certification are encouraged to apply
