Description

Hanover Dublin is looking for a Public Affairs Intern to support the growing team.

The Intern will have a keen interest in Irish politics, current affairs and experience working within a team. Intern responsibilities will include political, policy, regulatory and media monitoring, identifying key stakeholders, and providing day-to-day support to the team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a driven individual looking to break into the world of public affairs and communications. There will be on-the-job training and networking opportunities. The internship is for 12 weeks (with the potential to extend) and is paid at a competitive rate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring public policy and regulatory issues, and media developments
  • Developing stakeholder maps and profiles of key political and policy stakeholders
  • Support client engagement and meetings with policymakers
  • Draft briefing documents
  • Event support
  • Provide ongoing support to the public affairs and public relations teams, as required

Requirements

  • Interest and understanding in the Irish political and policy landscape
  • Familiarity with the EU policy and decision-making process
  • Prior experience working in a team
  • A fast learner and competent in performing set tasks
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to remain calm under pressure

We are looking for someone to start ASAP.

Please note the Internship will be based in the Dublin office, with opportunities for hybrid working to be agreed.
