POSITION OVERVIEW

Hanwha Data Centers is seeking a highly motivated Account Manager of Customer Sales & Commercial Development to lead customer engagement, commercial negotiations, and strategic business development initiatives across our rapidly growing data center platform. This individual will serve as a primary commercial interface with hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure companies, neocloud operators, enterprise customers, and colocation providers seeking powered land, powered shell, and build-to-suit data center solutions.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data center development, customer requirements, commercial structuring, and strategic partnerships. This role will play a critical part in driving customer acquisition, expanding market presence, and accelerating the growth of Hanwha's data center portfolio.

The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management.  All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Sales & Commercial Development

  • Lead commercial discussions with hyperscale, neocloud, enterprise, and AI infrastructure customers seeking powered land, powered shell, and build-to-suit data center solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the customer acquisition and site development process.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer technical and operational requirements, including:
    • Power capacity and megawatt (MW) demand
    • Delivery schedules and deployment timelines
    • Future campus expansion requirements
    • Cooling technologies and infrastructure needs
    • Fiber connectivity and diversity requirements
    • Sustainability and ESG objectives
  • Partner with internal development, engineering, and legal teams to create customized commercial offerings and development strategies.
  • Coordinate customer due diligence activities, site visits, executive presentations, and management meetings.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and support contract execution for:
    • Site Reservation Agreements
    • Development Agreements
    • Build-to-Suit Agreements
    • Powered Shell Agreements
    • Land Purchase Agreements
    • Ground Leases
  • Manage customer relationships through the full development lifecycle, ensuring alignment between customer requirements and project delivery.

 

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and evaluate emerging data center markets that align with Hanwha's growth strategy, considering:
    • Power availability
    • On-site generation opportunities
    • Customer demand drivers
    • Utility interconnection potential
    • Regulatory environments
    • Economic development incentives
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with:
    • Hyperscale cloud providers
    • Neocloud providers
    • AI infrastructure companies
    • Enterprise customers
    • Colocation operators
    • Utilities
    • Economic development organizations
  • Lead customer engagement efforts to understand future capacity requirements and translate demand signals into development opportunities.
  • Support site acquisition and market entry strategies based on customer requirements and market trends.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of customer opportunities and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Represent Hanwha Data Centers at industry conferences, customer meetings, trade associations, and strategic partner engagements.

 

Strategic Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, utilities, developers, brokers, contractors, and economic development agencies.
  • Negotiate strategic partnerships that improve speed-to-market, project economics, and competitive positioning.
  • Identify and evaluate joint venture, co-development, and strategic alliance opportunities that support portfolio expansion.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop partnership structures that accelerate project execution and customer growth.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, commercial development, real estate development, energy infrastructure, or data center development.
  • Experience leading customer-facing commercial negotiations and contract execution.
  • Strong understanding of data center development, power infrastructure, site selection, or commercial real estate transactions.
  • Proven ability to build and manage executive-level customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-stakeholder transactions and long sales cycles.
  • Ability to travel as required for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure companies, colocation providers, or major enterprise customers.
  • Knowledge of power generation, utility interconnections, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure development.
  • Experience negotiating development agreements, land transactions, lease structures, or build-to-suit agreements.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI and high-density data center infrastructure requirements.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

 

COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $160,000 salary
