POSITION OVERVIEW

The Associate Director of PMO is responsible for overseeing project planning, execution, and schedule management across a portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role will focus heavily on developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams, and supporting executive-level reporting. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Director of PMO and work out of the Irvine, CA office on a hybrid schedule. Travel up to 25% may be required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and coordinate internal resources and external vendors to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, tracking scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Monitor project performance and utilize appropriate tools (e.g., MS Project, P6) to report progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Ensure adequate resource allocation and availability across projects.

Schedule Development & Controls

  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules, including baselines, forecasts, and actuals.
  • Maintain a master program schedule inclusive of all projects across portfolios and regions.
  • Incorporate internal stakeholder tasks, durations, and activity budgets into project schedules.
  • Utilize scheduling tools to analyze critical path, milestones, float, and KPIs such as SPI and CPI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate schedule accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement updates.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Generate regular schedule reports and executive-level dashboards to highlight critical milestones, risks, and progress.
  • Maintain accurate and organized schedule documentation in designated company repositories.
  • Support finance and executive teams with reporting that links project schedules to cost and resource data.
  • Serve as scheduling subject matter expert, supporting cross-functional teams with MS Project, P6, and related tools.

Risk & Stakeholder Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and cross-functional coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a central point of communication between Development, EPC, Finance, and PMO teams to ensure alignment.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in project scheduling or project management, ideally in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate development, or construction
  • Strong proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Excel
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple projects
  • Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision and navigating ambiguity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials
  • Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects or similar capital-intensive projects
  • Working knowledge of project controls, earned value management (EVM), and key performance indicators (CPI, SPI)
  • Familiarity with project finance, cost tracking, and schedule integration
  • Experience building or maintaining executive-level dashboards and reports

 

Compensation: $170,000 - $215,000 Base Salary
