ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Sr. Collections Vendor Manager. This role will be responsible for the collections life cycle: delinquent loan collections and recovery, skip tracing, and bankruptcy administration.
This role involves collaborating with internal teams to enhance operational performance, refining vendor performance dashboards, and addressing quality assurance gaps through targeted training. Key responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, optimizing collections results, and presenting analyses to senior management. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and a problem solver that can drive change and results to improve recovery rates, streamline vendor management processes, and support scalable growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and vendor partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration for high-quality service and support.
- Build and maintain internal and vendor scorecards that track effectiveness, compliance, and productivity; partner with vendors to implement continuous improvements.
- Managing the daily operations of the collections department to include delinquent loan collections and recovery, skip tracing, and bankruptcy administration.
- Analyze collections data to uncover trends, identify underperformance, and test new liquidation strategies.
- Own the full lifecycle of vendor relationships—from onboarding and contract negotiation to performance reviews and offboarding.
- Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to incorporate feedback and business need requests into third-party performance and improvements as well as escalate issues and concerns to vendors in a timely manner.
- Recommend opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of current portfolio of solutions.
- Work closely with Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Product and Financial Partners to ensure that vendor strategies align with regulatory, operational, and business goals.
- Ensure all vendor activity is audit-ready and compliant with FDCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, and state-specific collection laws.
ABOUT YOU
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in consumer lending collections/ vendor management leadership roles.
- You know how to lead change and build trust with a remote team.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes and improve customer experiences through vendor relationships.
- You are responsive and reliable, managing the day to day performance of collections, recovery and debt sale vendors.
- Strong track record of managing internal teams and external vendors, holding them accountable to performance metrics.
- Proven analytical skills, with the ability to monitor performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
- You have a compliance mind set and are audit ready.
- Understand the balance between collection/recoveries and brand.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and partners.
- You act with integrity, urgency and ownership.

Base Salary Range
$115,000 - $135,000 USD
