Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an ambitious manufacturing engineering student to join our GA Manufacturing Team. As an intern, you will have various opportunities to apply lean manufacturing principles on the production floor. The primary responsibilities for this position will be to optimize the efficiency of the shop floor. The role also offers the opportunity to build valuable experience at a fast paced, high growth startup during a critical early product development stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, including Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Support production planning and scheduling to maximize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality assurance, and supply chain, to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to sustainability efforts by identifying energy-efficient manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program or greater in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, or Python is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Passion for sustainability and the electric vehicle industry.
