Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an ambitious Engineering major student to join our Quality team. As a Quality Engineer Intern, you will support the Quality Engineering team in ensuring that products and processes meet both internal and external quality standards. You will work on various projects that focus on product quality, supplier quality and continuous improvement initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in quality assurance practices within a manufacturing or engineering environment. The role also offers the opportunity to build valuable experience at a fast paced, high growth startup during a critical early product development stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as production, design, and supply chain) to identify and solve quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality-related problems.
- Support the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including test reports, control plans, and inspection procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance product quality.
- Monitor production processes and implement quality control measures to ensure product conformity.
- Support the Supplier Quality Engineering team in evaluating and auditing supplier processes to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Assist in the inspection, testing, and quality validation of incoming materials and components from suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues by participating in the root cause analysis and resolution of non-conformances, working with cross-functional teams to drive improvement actions.
- Help manage and maintain quality documentation, such as inspection plans, audit results, and supplier certifications.
- Support quality training and awareness initiatives across the organization.
Required Skills:
- Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or a related field).
- Basic understanding of quality control methodologies and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, 8D problem-solving).
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

California Pay Range
