Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an ambitious engineering student to join our General Assembly team.
As an intern, you will have various opportunities to contribute to various line optimization activities and to support the production ramp of a new vehicle assembly line. The intern's primary focus will be to enhance manufacturing efficiency and drive continuous improvement. This encompasses learning the critical interdependencies between design, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality, culminating in a finished electric strip chassis rolling off the production line. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience within a dynamic, high-growth startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and design of manufacturing standards, processes, equipment, and tooling for the all aspects of General Assembly, including sub assembly cells, mainline assembly, and End-Of-Line Vehicle bring up.
- Support the development and documentation of work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve production issues.
- Assist in the design, testing, and validation of new tools and equipment.
- Support the continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program or greater in related field
- Work authorized in the United States OR ability to obtain J-1/F-1 visa
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

California Pay Range
