Job Summary
Harbinger Motors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our advanced infotainment systems. We're looking for someone with a strong background in developing robust automated validation and verification frameworks, especially for embedded systems and graphical interfaces. You'll be instrumental in defining, developing, and executing test cases to ensure our infotainment systems meet the highest standards of performance, functionality, and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts for infotainment systems using Python, Pytest, and OpenCV.
- Implement and execute automated validation and verification processes for embedded systems and graphical user interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to understand system architecture, functional requirements, and technical specifications.
- Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies, utilizing Gherkin syntax to define clear, stakeholder-driven test cases.
- Conduct system-level testing on embedded Linux distributions, including Yocto and Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), specifically for automotive applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, working hand-in-hand with developers to ensure timely resolution.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases for new features and functionalities.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test case reviews to ensure testability and quality from the outset.
- Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide clear and concise test reports, summaries, and metrics to stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Python, Pytest, and OpenCV, with a proven track record of developing automated validation and verification frameworks for embedded systems and graphical interfaces.
- Familiar with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies using Gherkin syntax for clear, stakeholder-driven test case definitions.
- Working knowledge of embedded Linux distributions, including Yocto and Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), with experience in system-level testing for automotive applications.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet).
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Knowledge of HMI (Human-Machine Interface) testing.

California Pay Range
$100,000 - $140,000 USD
