Job Overview:
The Director of Business Systems will be a critical leader in our organization, responsible for defining the future state of our core business applications across all functions, including manufacturing, supply chain, finance, sales, service, and engineering. You will build and lead a high-performing team, foster strong partnerships with business stakeholders, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Vision & Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year roadmap for enterprise business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, WMS, Financial Systems) that supports our rapid growth, operational excellence, and strategic objectives.
- System Architecture & Integration: Design and oversee the implementation of robust, scalable, and integrated system architectures, ensuring seamless data flow and process automation across departments.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of high-caliber business systems analysts, product owners, and project managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate closely with senior leadership across all business units (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Service) to understand their needs, define requirements, and deliver technology solutions that drive business value.
- Process Optimization: Identify and analyze existing business processes, leveraging system capabilities to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve operational performance, with a keen eye on the unique challenges of the EV manufacturing and sales lifecycle.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with key software vendors, ensuring optimal solutions, service levels, and cost-effectiveness.
- Project & Program Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of complex business system initiatives, from concept to deployment and ongoing support, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Data Governance & Analytics: Establish and enforce data governance policies and practices to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability for informed decision-making. Champion the development of business intelligence and reporting capabilities.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks related to system performance, security, and data privacy. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and internal policies.
- Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, evaluating their potential to enhance our business systems and operational capabilities (e.g., AI, machine learning, IoT in manufacturing).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or IT leadership, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in a high-growth manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive or EV industry, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain complexities.
- Deep expertise in implementing and optimizing large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and other critical enterprise applications.
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex, cross-functional business transformation projects.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented with a passion for driving continuous improvement and innovation.

California Pay Range
$200,000 - $220,000 USD
