Senior Associate Consultant, Data Modernization

Harbor is seeking a Senior Associate Consultant, Data Modernization, to join our growing Strategy and Transformation team. Our Strategy + Transformation team partners with law firms and corporate legal departments to drive data modernization strategies that support business transformation, innovation, and AI readiness. This is a full-time position working hybrid from our Chicago office headquarters.


Job Duties + Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze complex legal and business datasets to uncover patterns and actionable insights 
  • Create clear, compelling data visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau 
  • Develop written narratives and presentations that explain technical concepts in engaging, business-friendly language 
  • Apply predictive analytics to forecast trends and model business scenarios 
  • Support Enterprise and Practice Data Strategy efforts, helping clients consolidate and structure key data domains 
  • Participate in AI and analytics projects by preparing curated data and connecting insights to business needs 
  • Collaborate with clients to understand goals, shape deliverables, and present results in a concise, impactful format 
  • Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders (including clients and vendors) to influence operational decisions and shape practices and procedures 
  • Work independently with limited supervision, managing end-to-end execution of projects or discrete workstreams 
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in Harbor’s internal data products, systems, and processes to enhance service quality and efficiency 
  • Support Harbor’s broader thought leadership efforts through idea sharing, research contributions, and industry engagement 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preference for degrees related to data, analytics, or technology 
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or data visualization roles 
  • Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar visualization platforms 
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar analytics and data manipulation tools 
  • Understanding of predictive analytics with experience applying or developing models 
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, concise narratives 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments and with external parties to influence project success and adoption 
  • Proven track record of independently managing projects and making operational improvements 
  • Eager to explore emerging technologies and share insights with colleagues and clients 

Bonus Points For: 

  • Experience working with legal or professional services organizations 
  • Familiarity with enterprise data technologies such as Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, or Master Data Management (MDM) 
  • Prior consulting experience
