
APAC Sourcing Senior Consultant - Sourcing + Real Estate + Facilities Management
Harbor is seeking a Sourcing Senior Consultant of procurement services to join our Vendor Governance and Sourcing team (VG+S). By providing strategic, technology and operational services to clients in the legal, professional and financial services industries, our consultants are a highly talented group of professionals who offer a unique blend of core consulting experience across a number of industries and disciplines along with specialized skills in their respective areas of expertise. This role is focused on sourcing, real estate and facilities management. The preferred candidate will be able to work remotely in Singapore and be able to cover that time zone for our Singapore based client.
Responsibilities:
As a part of Harbor’s VG+S team, we will rely on you to work closely with project team members and client personnel to provide procurement services in the APAC region, facilitating requirements gathering, researching best practices, leveraging market data and internal intellectual property, and conducting data analysis to facilitate the implementation of cost savings, and process improvement opportunities. You will also play a key role in real estate projects in the APAC region, along with a focus on implementing and utilizing a preferred vendor pool across the region and facilitating all stages of the procurement function, from sourcing vendors to contract negotiation and review to vendor relationship management.
- Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, evaluating and validating analysis
- Structure ill-defined problems, develop and apply conceptual frameworks and analytical approaches, create new tools and methodologies, and develop recommendations for client implementation while minimizing organizational disruption
- Support and manage all aspects of projects including guiding internal resources, facilitating requirements, gathering and conducting data analysis and research, training and mentoring junior team members and implementing the identified opportunities directly alongside client senior management
- Demonstrate ownership in managing work responsibilities while effectively prioritizing time and activities to consistently deliver on work product, deadlines and project goals
- Support engagement financials, practice operations as well as business development and proposal efforts
- Work directly with client management and executives on a routine basis on status as it pertains to engagement progression
- Ensure high quality delivery and provide content leadership
- Independently structure, write, and present well organized and persuasive end products
- Develop new intellectual capital including new and insightful frameworks and analyses
- Promote firm development by taking initiative to identify and cultivate new clients and business
- Utilize strong communications skills including the ability to command an audience
- Identify opportunities to provide additional client value and extension of existing client relationships
- Be a strong team player and developer of consulting staff while fostering an inclusive working environment
- Provide services across a number of categories, including benefits, recruiting, technology, real estate, office operations, etc.
- Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Strengthen the language on contract governance, compliance with firm policies, and local regulatory requirements.
- Market Intelligence & Risk Management: Responsibility for supply market analysis, vendor risk assessment, and awareness of regional regulations.
- ESG & Responsible Sourcing: Consider referencing ESG, supplier diversity, and sustainability practices, as this is an increasing area of focus for our client.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a related Consulting, Strategic Sourcing, Facilities Management / Real Estate or Project Management role. Analytical experience, ability to train, mentor and lead project teams and a desire to learn and grow are essential. Insight into local APAC region vendors, market knowledge, pricing and contract terms is highly desired. Additional qualifications will include the following abilities, attributes, experience and skills:
- Facilities Management and Real Estate Procurement expertise
- Experience in the Procurement Lifecycle: Call out the full end-to-end process more explicitly (requirements gathering → RFI/RFP/ITB → negotiation → contracting → vendor governance).
- Ability to think strategically and identify critical business issues
- Experience conducting financial analysis and research
- Exceptional analytic skills and experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis
- Capacity to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines
- Ability to build trust as both a mentor and a valuable resource within the project team
- Exceptional business acumen, presence and interpersonal/communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Supply Chain or Management Information Systems required
- Sector Experience: Preference for candidates with legal, professional services, or financial services backgrounds, e.g., “Experience supporting professional services (law firm/finance) clients preferred.”
- 7+ years of relevant experience in industry or consulting team-oriented environment with a focus on strategic sourcing, process improvement, project management and/or financial analysis required
- MBA and/or PMP (or similar certifications) highly desirable
- Experience conducting real estate projects, including sourcing landlords, architects, brokers, advisors, construction contractors AV vendors, etc.
- Familiarity with APAC recruiting agencies and practices
- Live in Singapore
- Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be required (international)
