The Position

The Marketing team, part of the firm’s broader Distribution function, is responsible for creating and executing strategic initiatives that support global distribution efforts. Distribution drives business growth, strengthens client relationships, and advances long-term objectives through clear and effective articulation of the firm’s value investing philosophy across multiple client channels, engaging both current and prospective clients.

The Head of Marketing drives the development and execution of the firm's global marketing strategy, elevating brand awareness, deepening client engagement, and propelling business growth. This strategic leadership role oversees all facets of marketing, including brand strategy, integrated campaigns, content creation, digital engagement, event marketing, targeted advertising, and public relations. The position partners closely with senior leaders, investment professionals, and the Distribution team as well as with our parent company Natixis and its dedicated wholesaling group to consistently communicate the firm's value investing philosophy and capabilities with clarity and impact. A central priority is the modernization of marketing capabilities through technology, leveraging data analytics, automation, CRM platforms, and digital tools to drive personalization, targeting, performance measurement, and an elevated client experience. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and collaborative leadership to guide a high-performing team with deep investment marketing expertise and to scale initiatives through data-driven, tech-enabled strategies.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and execute the firm’s global, end-to-end marketing strategy, ensuring consistent brand identity and messaging aligned with the firm’s value investing philosophy, business priorities, and distribution objectives across all channels and client touchpoints.
  • Lead the creation and execution of a high-impact content and campaign strategy, leveraging various media channels—including white papers, pitchbooks, investment commentary, videos, newsletters, events, and digital assets—to engage institutional and intermediary audiences with tailored, insight-driven communication.
  • Partner with Natixis Marketing and Digital Solutions teams to align with parent company initiatives and identify data-driven prospecting opportunities that enhance wholesaler engagement and channel effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, distribution, investment teams, and senior leadership to ensure strategic alignment across functions.
  • Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of the firm’s event and conference program to reinforce brand presence and deepen stakeholder engagement throughout the sales journey.
  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize marketing technologies to streamline operations, improve targeting and measurement, and elevate the client experience—delivering a best-in-class marketing infrastructure.
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive informed decision-making, optimize campaigns, refine audience segmentation, and deliver personalized content while tracking ROI and performance metrics.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability to drive strategic excellence.
  • Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry developments to uncover insights and recommend strategies for expanding product distribution and growing market share.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Over 10 years of marketing experience within the investment management industry.
  • Deep expertise in institutional and intermediary platforms, investment products, and client relationship dynamics.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex investment strategies and simplify sophisticated concepts for diverse audiences, with strong knowledge of investment products, client segments, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, events, public relations, and advertising.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation tools (e.g., Seismic), and data analytics platforms; skilled at streamlining engagement workflows and optimizing campaign performance.
  • Demonstrated success applying data analytics to strategic marketing decisions, using personalization, attribution modeling, and performance metrics to drive measurable business impact.
  • Strategic, hands-on leadership style with a record of building high-performing teams and managing collaborative cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with precision and attention to detail, while effectively prioritizing and adapting in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. If hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.  

Expected range for this Chicago-based role

$195,000 - $225,000 USD
