JOB TITLE & EMPLOYER NAME:         Senior International Research Associate for Harris Associates LP.                                              

LOCATION:               111 South Wacker Drive, Suite 4600, Chicago, Illinois 60606.

 

JOB DUTIES:             Use valuation models to conduct detailed financial analysis and valuation of investment opportunities. Perform in-depth company analysis that is aimed at qualitatively evaluating these investment opportunities (i.e. competitive advantages, risks to business, etc.). Meet with company management teams and accurately evaluate their quality and capabilities. Produce written materials and valuation models which succinctly explain investment conclusions and the rationale for these. conclusions, at times presenting these findings to the team and defending the viewpoints in Q&A. Support the opportunity identification process in early stages, identifying situations that could be compelling investments pending further research. Develop a strong understanding of the Harris investment philosophy and process, and add value through thoughtful comments, questions and discussions. Eligible for telecommuting from home within reasonable commuting distance from Chicago, IL. Will require physical presence at worksite in Chicago, IL at least four days a week.

REQUIREMENTS:    Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent of in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Research Associate – Chinese equities or related occupation at a value investing, long only, public equities firm supporting analysts in the investment process.

Experience must include two (2) years of experience in all of the following:

  1. Experience covering banks or supporting an analyst who covers banks.
  2. Experience covering Chinese equities or supporting an analyst who covers Chinese equities, understanding of S&P China 500 performance metrics.
  3. Creating and analyzing full three statement financial models with financial forecasts and DCF-based valuation.
  4. Creating question lists for company management teams to evaluate a company’s financial health, operational efficiency and overall risk profile
  5. Factset and Alphasense platforms.

Certificate requirement:

  1. Level 2 of CFA

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. If hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.  

Expected range for this Chicago-based role

$115,000 - $138,000 USD
