Associate Director of Project Management

Position Overview

The Associate Director of Project Management will lead a team of Project Managers while overseeing multiple pharmaceutical brand accounts within our agency. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the SVP of Project Management, ensuring operational excellence, resource optimization, and exceptional client service across all assigned accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, providing guidance on best practices, problem-solving, and career development
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and establish clear objectives and key results for team members
  • Identify and address staffing needs, participating in recruitment and onboarding of new Project Managers
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes innovation and excellence
  • Regular meetings with SVPs/Leads to foster collaborative relationships across departments and maximize outputs

Account Management

  • Oversee a portfolio of pharmaceutical brand accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex project issues within assigned accounts
  • Accountable for acquiring in-depth knowledge of brand specific processes and effectively communicating information to relevant team members
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on project management matters
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand services within existing accounts
  • Create an environment and encourages open communication, feedback and agile ways to work together

Operations & Strategy

  • Partner with the SVP of Project Management to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance project management efficiency and effectiveness
  • Establish and maintain standardized project management methodologies tailored to pharmaceutical marketing requirements
  • Monitor team workload and resource allocation to ensure optimal performance and profitability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership (Creative, Strategy, Medical) to align project execution with agency capabilities and client expectations

 Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets across multiple accounts, ensuring profitability targets are met
  • Including but not limited to, SOW development, maintenance and oversight refining of assumptions with account teams, proper phasing of jobs. And SOW tool maintenance
  • Identify scope changes requiring additional client investment and negotiate appropriate amendments
  • Monitor team utilization rates and implement strategies to maximize billable hours
  • Participate in the development of annualand monthly forecasts and business planning for assigned accounts
  • Collaborate with account and finance partners on monthly financial reconciliation documents
  • Ensure JR level PMs are tracking burn and providing action steps for teams
  • Participate in Finance meetings with SPM and FIN

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience managing pharmaceutical marketing projects and regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of digital and traditional advertising production processes
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Advanced proficiency with project management software and tools

Preferred

  • PMP certification
  • Experience with agile project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with resource management and capacity planning tools

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.

$115,000 - $150,500
