2026 Summer Internship - Finance
Position Summary:
Our Finance & Accounting team is seeking an intern to support core activities such as monthly close, financial reporting, and variance analysis. This internship plays an important role in strengthening the accuracy and reliability of our financial data, which helps the business make informed decisions. The intern will also contribute to process‑improvement initiatives that enhance internal controls and streamline reporting workflows. This role offers hands‑on experience in corporate finance and the opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced professionals across the team.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Support monthly close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial data for accuracy.
- Assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and preparation of management dashboards.
- Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and audit‑ready.
- Assist in an accounting system upgrade project navigating new workflows, reconciling historical data in new systems, and testing new processes.
- Help automate accounting processes that are currently done manually using Power Query, PowerBI, SQL, and/or Python.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion of a Corporate Accounting course.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficient in Excel with strong analytical skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Bonus: familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or Python.

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. Full-time base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.

$30 - $35 USD
