2026 Summer Internship - Legal
Position Summary:
Our Legal team is seeking an intern to support day to day activities such as conducting legal research, undertaking contract review, and providing regulatory support. This internship plays an important role in delivering exacting legal advice, which helps the business make informed decisions. The intern will also contribute to a department scaling initiative on legal knowledge management.
This role offers hands-on experience in providing investment management legal support in an in-house setting and an opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced lawyers and other professionals across the team.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Conduct legal research on investment management and related regulatory matters.
- Support the development and maintenance of legal knowledge management resources.
- Monitor emerging regulations and update the Regulatory Matrix.
- Lead a 12‑week project to catalog legal research by: reviewing and summarizing documentation, identifying relevant laws, subject matter, and legal advice, and proposing a scalable, searchable organizational framework
Requirements:
- Current law student pursuing a J.D. (2L preferred)
- Genuine interest in gaining experience within the investment advisory and mutual fund industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office application
- Ability to take direction from multiple team members and take ownership of assigned project
- Excellent attention to detail, strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. Full-time base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.
