About the team
Are you a product enthusiast who loves making cool stuff? R&D is at the heart of product creation for our global Harry’s and Flamingo brands. Join our team of passionate engineers, scientists, researchers, technicians, program managers, and more who are on a mission to create insightful, innovative products that fulfill the unmet, sometimes unspoken, needs of our customers. Within R&D, the Hard Products team is the engine behind our shaving business, developing razors, handles, and accessories; anything made from metal or plastic, in any product category. We start the process with customer-focused concept development and take ideas through design, engineering, prototyping, technical testing, user testing, demonstration, and validation, eventually bringing products like our new Harry’s Plus razor to market.
About the role
Are you a mechanical engineering enthusiast who loves designing products people use every day? We’re seeking an Associate Product Design Engineer to join our Hard Product New Product Introduction (NPI) team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the mechanical design and development of our next-generation hard products - including razor handles, cartridges, and accessories - working alongside experienced engineers and with cross-functional partners. - Engineering Analysis: Apply foundational engineering analysis methods - including tolerance analysis, FEA, and DFMEA - to evaluate design performance and help de-risk key decisions.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support the build and evaluation of prototypes. Help develop test methods and execute engineering tests to validate designs against performance requirements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Industrial Design, Program Management, Quality Engineering, Hard Product Innovation, and Reliability Engineering to support product development from concept through launch.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear engineering documentation including specifications, DFM, and design rationale to ensure alignment across the team.
- Continuous Learning: Actively develop your expertise in design, knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and product development best practices - growing through hands-on work and mentorship from senior engineers.
This should describe you
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is preferred.
- Foundational understanding of GD&T principles and experience creating 2D engineering drawings.

- Some exposure to engineering analysis methods - tolerance analysis, FEA, DFMEA, or similar - is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine curiosity about how products are designed and made.
- Creative, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Self-starter who takes ownership and drives tasks to completion.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Product enthusiast; you have a passion for creating and appreciate a well-designed product.
