Reporting to the Director, Global Payroll, the Sr Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing accurate and compliant payrolls across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical understanding of payroll systems (ADP, SAP), and a focus on continuous improvement. This position ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with regulations, and seamless employee experience, supporting Hasbro's global payroll transformation objectives. The role acts as a bridge between operations and management, collaborating closely with payroll team members and driving continuous process improvement.

 

This role will co-manage 5 pay groups (2 biweekly hourly, 2 biweekly salary, and 1 monthly) in ADP Vantage, & eTime, while supporting the implementation of ADP GlobalView and Workforce Manager. This is a critical, high-visibility role, and we are seeking the best candidate to bring their expertise of payroll, tax, compliance, and innovative, tech-driven payroll processes.

 

Effective from the date that Hasbro opens its new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday - Thursday at Hasbro's new HQ location in Boston, MA. In the interim, this position will be onsite Tuesday -Thursday at Hasbro's HQ in Pawtucket, RI or at Hasbro's temporary location in Boston, MA.

 

What You'll Do:

 

At Hasbro, every day is an opportunity to excel. As a Sr. Payroll Specialist, you will:

  • Manage multi-state processing and reporting, including state tax registrations, withholding accounts, and unemployment accounts.
  • Maintain payroll system accuracy, including earnings codes, deductions, tax configurations, and pay rules.
  • Process and validate payroll results, balancing gross-to-net calculations, reconciliations, and audit trails.
  • Review and analyze employee master data, time and attendance, and variable pay inputs for correctness.
  • Reconcile payroll results, support general ledger accuracy, and identify discrepancies.
  • Support payroll close, tax filings, and year-end reporting.
  • Manage payroll inquiries through effective communication and resolution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HRIS, HR Operations, and Finance to maintain data accuracy.
  • Serve as an SME for system functionality, upgrades, and cross-functional process enhancements.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Lead payroll audits and internal control testing, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Lead process improvement projects within the Payroll COE.

 

What You'll Bring:

 

We're seeking someone who's not just an expert, but passionate about doing things right - every time.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPP designation with PayrollOrg highly preferred
  • 7+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Strong experience with multi-state payroll and complex tax scenarios
  • Proficiency with ADP or SAP payroll systems
  • Experience with supporting payroll system conversion or HCM implementation
  • Experience supporting SOX, financial and compliance audits, and 401(k) plans
  • Strong preference for experience at a publicly traded company
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.); strong Excel skills required with ability to produce clear, auditable data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong analytical thinking with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Established success in assessing, redesigning, and automating manual processes using RPA, bots, and other process-improvement technologies to achieve greater accuracy, speed, and scalability.

The pay transparency range for this role is listed below. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.

Pay Range

$75,100 - $112,700 USD
