We are open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada, with a strong preference for those located in New York or San Francisco. Hatch is based in California, so we ask that you’re available during PST/PDT hours.

The Opportunity

Hatch is seeking a Content Operations Automation Lead to build the intelligence layer behind our content ecosystem.

This role combines systems thinking with AI-driven automation. You will build scalable workflows that reduce manual work, increase launch velocity, and enable data-informed iteration across our growing library – all in close partnership with key stakeholders across the Content, Product, Design, and Analytics teams.

As the operational owner of content distribution, you are responsible for ensuring everything we create is accurately published, intelligently surfaced, and optimized through structured insights. You will own the systems that power how content is structured, distributed, surfaced, and evaluated across our platforms (including Contentful, Braze, Airtable). From CMS architecture and metadata governance to placement logic, publishing workflows, and feedback loops, you will design the infrastructure that ensures content is discoverable, measurable, and continuously improving. 

Beyond distribution, you’ll strengthen the feedback and intelligence loops that connect customer sentiment, listener behavior, and performance metrics back into content strategy. Through scalable tracking, reporting, and AI-enabled optimization, you’ll ensure every launch not only ships seamlessly—but improves over time.

This is an opportunity to reimagine the operating system for Hatch’s content platform with an AI-powered infrastructure. 

What You’ll Do:

Within 1 Month:

  • Learn Hatch’s content library, publishing workflows, content management platforms, internal tools, and product ecosystem.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day distribution for always-on programming and new releases while auditing existing workflows for scalability and efficiency gaps.
  • Map the end-to-end content distribution lifecycle—from final asset deliverables to publishing to surfacing to performance measurement—identifying system dependencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities.
  • Evaluate off-platform distribution workflows (e.g., RSS, YouTube) and identify opportunities to streamline or automate publishing processes.
  • Take ownership of customer feedback intake on content, ensuring qualitative signals—both solicited directly from customers and surfaced from social channels (e.g., Reddit, reviews, social media)—are captured, synthesized, and consistently shared into content strategy.
  • Audit and formalize metadata, tagging, and taxonomy standards across Contentful and Airtable to ensure content is structured for search, discovery, and future personalization.

Within 3 Months:

  • Leverage Contentful and Braze to automate processes for in-app banner placements across library and homepage experiences.
  • Ship 1–2 AI-driven automation pilots in Contentful/Airtable (e.g., metadata generation, tagging assistance, QA checks) to reduce manual work and improve launch accuracy.
  • Configure Contentful changes required for new product features and hardware launches, translating product requirements into scalable systems to ensure new homepage and library experiences are launch-ready.
  • Take ownership of content performance measurement, aligning on baseline KPIs like plays, users, routine saves, repeat listening, and engagement.
  • Partner with Product to design and implement dynamic CMS infrastructure that powers data-driven curated carousels and collections across key library and homepage surfaces.
  • Build Airtable as the source of truth for content planning, launch readiness, and lifecycle tracking—supporting feature rollouts, seasonal programming, and new formats—with documentation and governance.
  • Design and own scalable standards and workflows for artwork creation, versioning, and deployment across on-platform and off-platform surfaces, ensuring launch accuracy and long-term maintainability.
  • Build a scalable tracking system for creator/partner contracts, renewals, and invoicing in partnership with Finance, Legal, and Production.
  • Partner with Analytics to build reporting tools and dashboards in Hex that make performance insights visible and actionable across Content, Product, and Marketing.
  • Run post-launch retrospectives that translate performance + feedback into clear recommendations on strategic direction, packaging, duration, and content mix.

Within 6 Months:

  • Institutionalize scalable content distribution standards across Hatch platforms, proactively evolving systems to eliminate inefficiencies and support long-term scale.
  • Define and document best practices, governance standards, and system ownership models for scalable content distribution.
  • Improve operational visibility across teams through clearer tracking, documentation, and reporting systems that make status, ownership, and priorities easy to understand.
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner for content launches, experiments, and platform updates—bringing clarity, reliability, and executional rigor to complex initiatives.
  • Act as the Contentful architecture lead, evolving CMS structures to support new product features, formats, and future product launches.
  • Develop a content performance and distribution playbook that defines clear levers for optimizing underperforming titles and scaling repeatable patterns behind high-performing content
  • Automate the ongoing feedback loop between analytics, content, product, and marketing so insights drive continuous iteration—not one-off reporting.
  • Develop a centralized knowledge library connecting user behavior to content recommendation needs (behavioral cues, sound + light effects) in support of future-state hyper-personalization and storytelling.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in content operations, platform operations, or digital publishing within a consumer product, media, or content-driven company.
  • Experience leveraging AI or automation tools (e.g., Relay, N8N, Zapier) to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Strong experience managing on-platform content distribution, with a focus on reliable, repeatable execution across app and web
  • Comfort partnering with Analytics to define KPIs, interpret dashboards, and apply performance insights to improve content distribution and discovery outcomes
  • Comfort translating ambiguous product and content requirements into structured, repeatable system designs.
  • Systems-minded and process-driven, with a track record of improving efficiency, reducing manual work, and scaling operational outputs
  • High attention to detail and operational rigor
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset — you see gaps before they become problems and build systems that prevent them.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms including Braze, Contentful, and Airtable is a huge plus.
