The Opportunity

Our Sourcing and Supply Chain team is growing and we're looking for a Sr. Supplier and Product Quality Manager to join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep. This role will work very closely with the engineering, R&D and Customer Service teams at Hatch as we develop new products and then oversee production at the factories to ensure the highest quality products are produced without defects and in a way that will delight our customers. This role will report to the Director, Sourcing and Manufacturing. This person will be based in Guangdong Province, China. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours on occasion for meetings. This position will require travel 25% to 50% of the time.

What You’ll Do

Within 3 Months:

  • Become intimately familiar with the technical specifications of Hatch’s portfolio of products.
  • Become intimately familiar with the factory base currently used by Hatch and the manufacturing processes of our product lines.
  • Build close relationships with the Hatch R&D and US based engineering/CS teams to understand existing processes, ways of working, etc.
  • Understand the testing requirements for Hatch’s existing products for the US, Canada, Australia and UK, work with US team/Labs and create standards.
  • Review and understand existing quality control processes by factory and by product line. Establish a baseline for assessing quality at the factories.
  • Identify potential quality risk in the current NPD process and add a checklist upfront to avoid later defects.

Within 6 Months:

  • Review existing testing and quality control processes and implement additional processes to enhance the overall quality of Hatch products exiting the factory.
  • Understand the customer voice and further improve production process/design to bring in better customer experience;

After 1 Year:

  • Work with our existing/new factories and help them become the 2nd source to produce our existing products;

What You’ll Bring

  • Knowledge of product / process quality management as well as product development experience in diverse industries, including consumer electronics, experience in Audio product, PCB, Chipset is preferred. 
  • Minimum 7 years experience with import/export consumer product quality program management.
  • Working knowledge of US/CA/EU compliance requirements for consumer electronics.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversant in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • An ability to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Process oriented with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities concurrently.
