Job Title: Rental Service Manager
Reports to: Branch Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: The Rental Service Manager will be responsible for the operational efficiency of the branch. The Rental Service Manager will provide our customers with well-maintained rental equipment and provide exceptional customer service. A key function is the scheduling and prioritizing of rental equipment repairs in a safe and timely manner, providing direction and oversight to the service team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees and direct all activities necessary to maintain a safe and efficient rental service operation.
- Prioritizes machine repairs both in the yard and in the field.
- Assists Rental Coordinators in recovering and repairing customer damage.
- Manages operations to ensure productivity, customer service, and profitability.
- Ensures that all work orders are opened and closed accurately and on time.
- Oversees facility issues and resolves any problems, including cleanliness and efficiency of the entire yard.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Drives accountability, coaching and mentoring of personnel.
- Oversees all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing, when necessary.
- Ensures the service team is compliant with all required training.
- Codes and approves authorized accounts workflow payable invoices.
- Interfaces with Branch Manager and Technical Communicator, to ensure all warranties are all recovered.
- Interfaces and communicates effectively with customers regarding scheduled maintenance and equipment repairs.
- Manages Payroll for direct reports and WIP employees.
- Collaborates with Branch Manager to implement changes streamline operations to ensure a more productive, effective, and efficient running branch
- Assists with hands on training of technicians.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must have 3 - 5 years of Management experience.
- Must have 5 years of industry experience.
- PC skills required.
- Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License.
- Strong customer service experience for internal and external customers
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
- Handling: Picks up items, helps or works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position. If required to perform various functions of the job.
- Climbing: In and out of equipment.
- Vision: Read work tickets and parts books.
- Talking: Communications by radio, phone, and in person.
- Sitting: Sits in equipment and in vehicles.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
- Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse and outside with variations of temperature and weather.
- Exposure: Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
