JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:            Aftermarket Inside Sales Representative

Reports to:        Corporate Product Support Sales Supervisor

FLSA Status:      Non-exempt

Division:             HPC

Department:     Product Support

Locations:         Waipahu

 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Aftermarket Inside Sales Representative & Onboarding Specialist influences the sale of parts and service of Caterpillar earthmoving equipment and other related products throughout the dealer territory. This role supports onboarding new customers, to include set up of connectivity and digital offerings, as well as Customer Value Agreements (CVA).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Prospects and develops assigned accounts with a focus on Retail and Small Core customers.
  2. Provides quotes for parts, service, CVA, and other products to meet customer needs and close sales.
  3. Develops eCommerce and other business opportunities for all customer accounts.
  4. Makes routine sales calls on customers in assigned markets and maintains a quoting process for parts and service.
  5. Establishes and maintains close working relationships with customers at all levels.
  6. Introduces Hawthorne’s parts and service capabilities to all customers and onboards them.
  7. Assists customers in selection of programs that will ensure maximum life cycle of their equipment.
  8. Provides coordination between customers and Parts, Service and other operational departments to provide the best possible service and customer experience.
  9. Maintains customer contact and equipment information, sales call reports, and weekly call planners.
  10. Develops sales goals and objectives for each market.
  11. Initiates and conducts equipment inspections and evaluations to identify parts and service opportunities (TA1 utilizing Cat Inspect, GET and Undercarriage utilizing CTS Pro and Bucket Pro).
  12. Communicates and applies Hawthorne’s Marketing and Merchandising programs for GET, Undercarriage, and other product offerings to increase parts sales.
  13. Works in coordination with Product Support and Parts teams to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.
  14. Provides assistance / support to Parts team for coverage and growth of Retail and Small Core customer base parts sales.
  15. Provides assistance / support to CVA team for customer setup and administration.
  16. Provides assistance / support to Digital team for customer setup and administration.
  17. Performs any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department, or individual goals and objectives.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must have a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.
  3. A minimum of five years in a product support sales and service environment with experience in customer service preferred.
  4. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  5. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  6. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
  7. Must be organized and a good planner.
  8. Must have the ability to set and meet goals.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Walking: Moves about on foot, often up and down stairs.
  2. Handling: Seizes, helps, or works with hands.
  3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous items up to 30 lbs.
  4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
  5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
  6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
  7. Climbing: In and out of equipment.
  8. Vision: Reads documents on the computer and paperwork.
  9. Talking: Communicates by phone and in person.
  10. Sitting: Sits at desk for extended periods.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL:          

  1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
  2. Temp/Weather: Works in both office and outdoor environments.
