JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY: The Hilo Sales and Service Advisor will perform administrative duties pertaining to shop operation and branch operations supporting both Sales and Service Departments. Under the direction of the Hawaii Sales Manager and the Big Island Operations Manger the Hilo Sales and Service Advisor is accountable for inside prime product / product support sales and marketing for an assigned customer account list. He/she will also support the Hilo Service department with revenue, warranty and internal work orders from opening to closing. and work order control and overall service operations support.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS SERVICE/ SALES for Hilo Branch:

  1. Customer Onboarding (EMO), machine delivery and initial familiarization Support for new customers
  2. Sales Machine Preparation and Configuration.
  3. Yard / machine organization and retail work tool tracking
  4. Makes routine sales calls on customers in assigned markets to develop new and retail accounts:
    • Generates leads for both Sales and Product support from call activity.
    • Maintains account activity “calls” through sales link.
    • Ensures accuracy of equipment lists in sales link for assigned accounts
  5. Supports MSRs and Hawaii Sales Manager with regional specific market feedback for:
    • Sales/marketing plan for assigned customer base.
    • Develop and expands current customer database.
    • Community involvement opportunities.
  6. Opens or directs others to open work orders for repair jobs. Files documents in appropriate job jackets and checks all completed jobs for accuracy prior to closing.
  7. Reviews and approves labor and submits for payroll processing as needed.
  8. Reviews shop requisitions and ensure that cores, returns and warranty hold parts are efficiently controlled.
  9. Ensures that the clerk obtains work authorization with a verified valid payment method prior to setting an appointment for shop or field repairs.
  10. Actively manages the Work-In-Progress (WIP) to ensure efficient throughput and invoicing.
  11. Works with warranty department to process and submit Caterpillar and Allied warranty claims for reimbursement.
  12. Assists in preparation of quotations, invoices, reports and other documents.
  13. Assists Service Manager in administration of Hawthorne Pacific Corp.'s safety, credit, housekeeping and other rules, policies and procedures.
  14. Assists Service Manager to ensure departmental key metrics are monitored and sustained.
  15. Performs other duties as directed by Management.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Must have a minimum of five years in a service shop
  2. Prior supervisory skills and experience
  3. Must have a high school diploma or
  4. Must have the ability to work with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook and
  5. Must have a valid Hawaii Drivers
  6. Must have a minimum of 7 years industry and product specific sales experience.
  7. Must have customer service experience and be diplomatic and courteous with great attention to
  8. Must possess extensive Caterpillar product knowledge in construction and compact equipment.
  9. Must be responsive to specific market trends and needs through proactive, direct customer contact.

At the discretion of the Hiring Manager, applicants may be required to pass a written and/or oral examination before being considered for employment in this position.
