Opportunity 

Haygarth is looking for a Account Manager to join our team. Acting as one of the lead day-to-day eyes and ears on Vodafone, a high volume fast-paced global retail client, you’ll manage all projects and campaigns through agency systems and procedures. Working in a team of five alongside an Associate Director, Senior Account Director, Senior Account Manager, and Senior Account Executive, your key work streams would include store rollout programmes and bespoke flagship store builds as well as ad hoc strategic or retail based briefs.

What you'll do:

  • Provides retail expertise and leadership in guiding internal teams across the agency to meet client goals ensuring that brand strategy and objectives are being met
  • Develops and nurtures strong rapport with clients, troubleshooting conflicts as they arise
  • Leads the development and implementation of operational and strategic solutions which build brand equity and deliver results for the client
  • Plans and executes projects that are on strategy, on time and on budget
  • Delivers polished client presentations and reporting, both written and verbal
  • Actively contributes to overall idea generation with agency team
  • Ensures that the financial and legal aspects of the campaigns/ projects/account are managed according to agency procedures
  • Be resourceful in meeting client requests – able to diplomatically question and provide solutions for unrealistic ones
  • Front basic creative briefing meetings with client (e.g. small projects, amends)
  • Contribute during major creative or status briefing meetings internally or with a client (e.g. new campaign)
  • Take responsibility for accurate cost estimates and budget trackers of all activity on the account
  • Actively contributes to agency initiatives to grow the account
  • Ensure that estimates are understood and approved/PO’d by Client – be able to explain and justify all the elements on an estimate to client
  • Efficient financial management; controls client budget efficiently and carefully, communicating potential overspends as necessary, inputs into forecasting, raised invoices in a timely manner  
  • Understand details of client retainer/scope of work in order to monitor and manage accordingly
  • Have a thorough understanding of competitive market – category, brand, strategic implication and the wider sector/channel trends and developments. Be able to put together competitive reviews.
  • Distinguish between a good client brief and a poor client brief – know what questions to ask
  • Judge creative ideas in terms of factual legal accuracy and relevance to and adherence to the creative brief
  • Have a thorough understanding of the brands’ conceptual target audience and those of the competitors
  • Participate in brainstorms to provide new thinking wherever possible
  • Contribute at all times to the ethos and spirit of the agency

Who you are:

  • 1+ years of experience in an Account Manger role 
  • Previous agency experience, ideally gained on working on retail and or shopper accounts
  • Experience working with print / production agencies
  • Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Passionate about creativity
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Experience delivering quality work within budget parameters
  • Experience in financial tracking (e.g. creating cost estimates, keeping on budget etc)
