The Role: The People Partner & Program Manager plays a critical role as a trusted collaborator and advisor to business leaders, serving as a bridge between the People Team and Hazel at large. In this role, you will partner closely with departmental leadership and the Director of People Business Partnership to (1) drive innovative people programs and initiatives focused on performance management and manager effectiveness, and (2) build scalable and effective talent strategies based on departmental needs and business priorities. The People Partner & Program Manager will enable scalable growth across the company as a strategic and action-oriented business partner.

What You’ll Do:

People Partnership 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to business leaders, helping design and implement effective talent strategies to address team engagement, retention, leadership development, internal mobility and organizational growth. 
  • Negotiate and resolve lower-level employee-relations conflicts that may lead to disciplinary action; balancing what is best for the team member, manager, department and company.
  • Partner with People Operations and Legal Team to balance compliance requirements with agile, creative and flexible solutions that successfully accommodate business needs and manage acceptable risk

Performance Management & Talent Initiatives

  • Design effective talent and people strategies and coach leaders to implement them with their teams. Some of these will be pilot programs to evaluate impact and effectiveness, others will include more cyclical people programs and initiatives, including: talent planning for growth and scale, professional development activities for current and rising people leaders, engagement action planning, compensation reviews and incentive programs.
  • Support with the implementation of Hazel’s performance management framework, building more opportunities for both macro and micro feedback for managers and team leaders.
  • Develop and deliver toolkits, interactive resources and communication materials for leaders to drive understanding, consistency, and adoption of talent programs.

Organizational Effectiveness 

  • Partner with leaders and the People Team to optimize organizational design; connecting future priorities with current talent needs, capabilities and headcount budget.
  • Develop actionable talent insights through data reports, surveys and performance reviews to proactively ensure the right talent and capabilities are in the right roles to drive business results.

What Excites Us:

  • You have 6+ years experience as a People Partner, Talent Management Manager, or equivalent role for a rapidly growing organization, with direct experience engaging with multiple levels of leadership within a company. Experience in high-growth environments is a plus.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to both build and deliver large-scale people programs that support business objectives, particularly with respect to talent and performance management, succession planning, leadership development and/or engagement.
  • You can build strong, trusted partnerships with senior leaders; quickly deciphering what their priorities are, what motivates them and what barriers may exist in which they need support mitigating or resolving from a talent and performance lens.
  • You come with a history of building consensus, coaching and guiding managers and leaders and navigating diverse personalities and perspectives through change.
  • You have excellent data-analytics skills, with the ability to differentiate trends and patterns from anecdotes, and turn insights into actionable strategies. 
  • You have exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with experience creating training content and guiding leaders through complex talent processes. While this is not a Learning & Development role, you lean into training and facilitation opportunities enthusiastically.
  • You have a high acumen for complex problem solving and are adept at collaborating with strong business judgment.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $125,000 to $145,000, 401(k) with a 100% employer match for contributions up to 4% salary, high quality medical, dental and vision coverage, 15 days of paid-time off and 10 paid company holidays, and a broad range of other benefits.
