The Director of Projects at Hazel Valley Homes plays a critical leadership role, providing high-level oversight and strategic direction for the execution and delivery of residential renovation and construction projects across our operating markets. This position leads through the management of three key managers—Vendor Manager, Scheduling Manager, and Purchasing Manager—who each oversee their respective teams. The Director ensures these teams, which may include more than 20 individuals, execute their functions effectively and in alignment with Hazel Valley Homes’ performance expectations and KPIs. This position ensures consistency and accountability across procurement, scheduling, vendor compliance, permitting, and construction delivery. The Director is ultimately responsible for managing all associated activities to meet the company's operational, financial, and quality goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight for Vendor, Scheduling, and Purchasing teams.
- Ensure team execution aligns with company KPIs including timelines, cost efficiency, and quality control.
- Maintain accountability for vendor onboarding, compliance, and material procurement pipelines.
- Drive consistency in scope management, schedule adherence, and permitting compliance across all markets.
- Collaborate with other departments to address project challenges and root causes.
- Continuously evaluate workflows and implement process improvements.
- Report on performance metrics and project health to executive leadership.
- Ensure Salesforce and related platforms are maintained with accurate, real-time project data.
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing team leadership across functions.

- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar project management platforms.

- Demonstrated success in meeting operational KPIs.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.
- Experience in developing operating procedures and utilizing continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to influence and coach teams remotely.
- Strong foundation in construction means and methods, project management technologies and supply chain and material sourcing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in a construction, procurement, or renovation environment, preferably in the SFR or residential industry.
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in the SFR or BTR space.
