The Vendor Manager at Hazel Valley Homes is responsible for overseeing the entire vendor management process, ensuring that all vendors meet the company's standards and compliance requirements. This role provides leadership and direction to the Vendor Specialist and Vendor Coordinator, ensuring effective vendor onboarding, relationship management, performance monitoring, and contract negotiation. The Vendor Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality vendor partnerships that align with Hazel Valley Homes’ operational and financial goals. This position reports directly to the Director of Projects and ensures that vendor-related activities are executed in alignment with the company's KPIs and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the vendor onboarding process, ensuring all vendors meet compliance and quality standards.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key vendors to ensure reliable and high-quality service.
- Monitor vendor performance against KPIs and service level agreements, addressing any issues proactively.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to ensure favorable conditions for Hazel Valley Homes.
- Lead and develop the Vendor Specialist and Vendor Coordinator, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Collaborate with the Director of Projects and other departments to align vendor strategies with overall business goals.
- Ensure all vendor-related data is accurately maintained in relevant systems and platforms.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the vendor management process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3–5 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field, preferably within the construction or real estate industry.
- Experience managing vendor relationships in the single-family rental (SFR) or build-to-rent (BTR) space.
- Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Familiarity with NetVendor or similar compliance platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
