👩‍💻 The Role

As an Engineering Manager - QA at Headout, you will lead and scale our QA team to ensure our platform is robust, reliable, and seamless. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to maintain high-quality standards while scaling our platform to millions of guests globally. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with leadership, giving you the autonomy to shape our QA function, implement cutting-edge automation frameworks, and drive innovation. 

This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore.

💝 What skills & experience do you need?

• You lead with experience and clarity. You have 8+ years of experience in QA, including 2+ years leading a team, and you know how to hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing QA function.
• You automate, not just test. You have hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright, Rest Assured) and CI/CD integration.
• You solve problems from first principles. You question assumptions, challenge the status quo, and build solutions that work at scale rather than following legacy processes.
• You’re comfortable at both 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You can strategize at a high level but also dive into test cases, debugging, and automation when needed.
• You’re an advocate for quality. You embed QA into the entire development lifecycle, ensuring testing is proactive, not reactive.

✨ Bonus (Nice-to-Haves)

• Experience working in a fast-scaling startup where speed and quality go hand in hand.
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and web technologies (RESTful APIs, microservices).
