Senior Associate, Culture Operations & Global Payroll
🚀 Why Headout?
We’re a rocketship: 9-figure revenue, record growth, and profitable
With $130M in revenue, guests in 100+ cities, and 18 months of profitability, Headout is the fastest-growing marketplace in the travel industry, and we’re just getting started. We've raised $60M+ from top-tier investors and are building a durable company for the long term — because that's what our mission needs and deserves. We’re growing, profitable and nowhere near done.
What we do is important
In an increasingly digital world, there is a desperate need to augment our human experience by getting us to interact with the real world around us and the people in it. At Headout, our mission is to be the easiest, fastest, and most delightful way to head out to a real-life experience — from immersive tours to museums to live events and everything in between.
Why now?
The foundation is strong. The opportunity ahead is even bigger. We’ve hit profitability, built momentum, and proven the model — but there’s so much more to build. If you’re looking to join a company where the trajectory is steep and your impact is real, this is the moment.
Our culture
Reinventing the travel industry isn't easy, but that's the fun part.
We care deeply about ownership, craft, and impact, and we’re here to do the best work of our careers. We won’t pretend like it’s for everyone but if you’re a builder who loves solving tough problems, you’ll feel right at home.
👩‍💻The role
In this role, you’ll own end-to-end payroll for our India and global teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across geographies. Alongside this, you’ll also manage our employee benefits programs and support day-to-day people operations - from the moment someone joins Headout to every touchpoint along the way. You’ll be the go-to person for making sure the fundamentals just work - people are paid correctly and on time, benefits run smoothly, and employee queries are handled with care.
This role is ideal for someone who finds satisfaction in getting the details right, but also cares deeply about the experience those details create for people. You’ll work across teams, solve real problems, and help build operational foundations that scale with us as we grow.
🤩 What makes this role special?:
- Ownership: You’ll run payroll independently and own the full cycle — inputs, processing, compliance, and reporting across India and global teams.
- Impact on people: You’re not buried in a back office. You’ll directly shape how Headouters experience key moments — from getting paid accurately and on time to having a smooth experience with benefits and support when things go wrong.
- Problem-solving at scale: As a fast-growing global company with 600+ people across 20 nationalities, the operational puzzles here are anything but routine. You’ll constantly find better ways to do things.
- Breadth: You’ll straddle payroll, benefits, compliance, and people operations — giving you a well-rounded HR skill set that’s hard to build elsewhere.
What skills & experience do you need?:
- 2-4 years of experience managing India payroll end-to-end, including statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, etc.), with some exposure to global payroll, EOR platforms, or international teams
- Experience managing or coordinating employee benefits (insurance, reimbursements, vendor coordination)
- Good understanding of India’s labour laws and the ability to navigate compliance requirements across geographies
- Experience handling people operations workflows such as onboarding, documentation, employee queries, and lifecycle coordination
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage timelines across multiple geographies
- Comfortable working with HR/payroll tools, data, and systems, with a mindset to improve and automate processes
- Clear communicator who works well across teams and takes ownership through to closure in a fast-changing environment
Bonus
- You have worked with global teams before.
