Role Overview

The Neurologist Advisor will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities, conducting clinical due diligence, and advising healthcare startups on neurology-related innovations. The Neurologist will assess emerging technologies in neurology, AI-driven diagnostics, neuroimaging advancements, and digital therapeutics, ensuring their alignment with real-world neurology practice and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Due Diligence & Market Evaluation

• Evaluate the clinical validity, safety, and efficacy of new neurology-focused healthcare technologies.
• Assess AI-driven neurology tools, neuroimaging innovations, wearable neurological monitors, and digital therapeutics.
• Analyze the regulatory landscape (FDA, CMS, HIPAA, CPT coding, and reimbursement models) for neurology-related innovations.
• Provide risk assessment and feasibility analysis for startups developing treatments, diagnostics, and care management solutions for neurological disorders.

Strategic & Portfolio Company Support

• Offer clinical expertise to portfolio companies developing neurology-focused solutions, including digital health platforms for epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular disorders.
• Advise on reimbursement strategies, payer integration, and regulatory challenges specific to neurology-focused medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
• Support neurology startups in designing clinical trials, physician adoption strategies, and patient engagement models.
• Assist in recruiting neurologist key opinion leaders (KOLs) and establishing neurology advisory boards for healthcare startups.

Industry Thought Leadership & Networking

• Stay ahead of emerging trends in neurology, including AI in neurology, neurostimulation, digital biomarkers, neurorehabilitation, and precision medicine for neurological conditions.
• Represent the firm at neurology investment summits, AAN (American Academy of Neurology) conferences, and industry panels focused on neurology innovation.
• Engage with neurologists, neuroimaging specialists, neurosurgeons, researchers, healthcare executives, and policymakers to expand the firm’s presence in neurology-focused venture capital.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Neurologist (MD or DO) with clinical experience in general neurology, neuroimaging, neurophysiology, movement disorders, epilepsy, stroke, or neuromuscular disease.
• Strong knowledge of neurology reimbursement models, healthcare economics, and regulatory frameworks in neurological care.
• Experience with healthcare startups, digital neurology, neuro-AI platforms, or venture capital is a plus.
• Analytical skills for evaluating neurology-focused clinical data, business models, and technology platforms.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between neurologists, investors, and healthcare entrepreneurs.
