CDS-Kim DiMaio-test - DevOps Engineer
Summary: We're hiring a DevOps Engineer to help solve complex technical challenges, reduce manual effort through automation, streamline software delivery, and support our hybrid infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience across the technology stack who is passionate about automation and has strong cloud engineering skills.
The DevOps Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain infrastructure through automation while partnering closely with software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available applications using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and containerization. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, performance optimization, and support of enterprise applications running on Linux and Windows within a hybrid infrastructure. The position participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation supporting production systems and critical business applications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients’ proprietary information.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform and automation tools including Ansible, Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
- Design, implement, and support cloud-native solutions across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Manage, monitor, and optimize cloud and on-premises infrastructure for reliability, availability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Configure and support cloud networking including virtual networks, routing, load balancing, VPN connectivity, DNS, firewalls, and security controls.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows operating systems, application services, certificates, logging, system performance, access controls, and patch management.
- Develop, configure, and support enterprise application platforms, middleware, and application services.
- Manage application deployment, maintenance, upgrades, patching, rollback, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, code quality, security scanning, infrastructure provisioning, and application deployments.
- Develop, deploy, and support containerized applications using industry-standard container technologies, registries, and orchestration platforms.
- Create reusable automation, deployment templates, and self-service platform capabilities that improve software engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve automation, software quality, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational efficiency while adhering to organizational security standards.
- Implement DevOps and DevSecOps best practices, including infrastructure automation, observability, identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance automation.
- Implement monitoring, centralized logging, alerting, dashboards, and observability solutions to improve application health and operational visibility.
- Analyze system performance, utilization, capacity, and cloud costs, implementing improvements to optimize platform performance.
- Collaborate with software engineering, quality assurance, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
- Participate in solution architecture, infrastructure planning, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize open-source technologies, APIs, SDKs, and scripting to develop automation and solve complex technical challenges.
- Document architecture, operational procedures, standards, and runbooks to establish repeatable and supportable practices.
- Provide responsive support for production systems, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
- Interact professionally with employees, vendors, and clients while effectively managing priorities and meeting established deadlines.
- Follow CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical field. Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and professional experience may be considered.
- Two or more years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Administrator, Software Engineer, or a comparable technical role.
- Experience supporting highly available, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and automating system configuration and application deployment using Ansible or comparable configuration management tools.
- Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Linux operating systems, Python-based applications, system services, networking, security, and performance, with experience supporting Windows operating systems, services, and enterprise applications.
- Experience implementing DevOps and DevSecOps practices including infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging, identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response using cloud-native or third-party monitoring platforms.
- Working knowledge of audit and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS or comparable regulatory standards.
- Experience working within Agile software development methodologies and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Compensation: $95,000-$125,000 with potential for annual incentive bonus.

Compensation
The base salary range below represents the Company's good-faith estimate for this position in the posted work location at the time of posting.
A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, education, geographic location and market considerations.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is:
$85,000 - $125,000 USD
