The Opportunity

MHK is hiring for a People Operations Specialist.  This role’s primary responsibility will be handling HR Operational support issues, including employee inquiries, and ensuring all employee data and records are accurate and up to date. To complete this work you will perform research, analysis and document preparation as well as interact with internal employees and managers on a variety of HR queries. You will also review and process transactions within our HR systems and records. 

Hybrid: This hybrid role is based in Tampa, Florida and requires working in the office three (3) days per week.

Position Duties

  • Provide overall HR Operational support to our Head of People
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and work with Head of People on recommended best practices; help create, update, and review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Coordinate with our third-party AAP administrator to provide data, build annual plan, create reports, monitor data tracking to meet needs of plan, and respond to OFCCP inquiries.
  • Support all immigration needs and efforts, including serving as liaison between sponsored foreign nationals and immigration attorney, preparing documentation for USCIS, and advising leadership on visa sponsorship decisions.
  • Partner with the VP of People and other executives to deliver employee communications.
  • Support delivery of the employee engagement survey using the chosen platform and tools; partner with leadership to act in response to survey feedback.
  • Assist with the administration of MHK's annual Employment Engagement Survey.   
  • Serve as a resident SME for various People systems including HRIS/HCM/ATS systems.
  • Provide frontline support and services to employees regarding HR policy and procedure, leave of absence rights and responsibilities as well as benefit plan inquiries
  • Process day to day HR transaction requests and queries. Ensure all people critical administrative transactions are accurate and handled in a timely and compliant manner; escalate issues when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitive information
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager to help facilitate employee onboarding process and assist with new hire questions when necessary
  • Assist in conducting exit interviews as necessary
  • Partner with Executive Assistant to maintain company organizational chart and the employee directory  
  • Assist with special HR projects wherever needed.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of previous Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Strong technical skillset using an HRIS/HCM product as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams or Webex, PowerPoint, and Excel) 
  • Knowledge of employment (EEOC) related laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience using data as well as AAP and/or OFCCP data tracking, metrics and reporting.
  • Prior experience supporting immigration needs and efforts, including serving as liaison between sponsored foreign nationals and immigration attorney, preparing documentation for USCIS.
  • Participated in performance management programs including: productivity, awards and recognition, employee engagement surveys, as well as training and development.
  • Prior professional experience supporting accommodations and employee investigations.
  • Work well within a team environment, supporting both local and remote employees. 
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Human Resources Certification – PHR or SHRM-CP preferred, not required
