Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer

At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Your mission

Heart is building a hybrid, battery-electric regional aircraft to decarbonize and democratize aviation. As a Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer on the Flight Performance and Simulation team, you will develop, analyze, and verify aircraft loads and dynamics of our clean sheet hybrid-electric aircraft.

You'll Bring These Qualifications For Senior Dynamics Engineer:

  • 5+ years professional experience in aircraft loads and aeroelasticity, with a solid Proficiency in HyperMesh or similar FEA tools, and aeroelastic solver tools.
  • Experience in CAD design tools such as Siemens NX, and ability to set up simulations from mechanical design data.
  • Strong software development knowledge in Python, MATLAB, or a similar language.

You'll Bring These Qualifications For Staff Dynamics Engineer:

  • 8+ years professional experience in aircraft loads and aeroelasticity, with a solid Proficiency in HyperMesh or similar FEA tools, and aeroelastic solver tools.
  • Experience in CAD design tools such as Siemens NX, and ability to set up simulations from mechanical design data.
  • Strong software development knowledge in Python, MATLAB, or a similar language.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Foundation in aerodynamics, rigid body dynamics, and the principles of vibration
  • Experience developing software in a team environment (including version control and CI/CD).
  • Experience building optimization pipelines that integrate disparate workflows and tools.
  • Familiarity with environmental qualification testing standards like DO-160G.
  • Experience with Composite Structures
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
  • Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry

Education

  • Bachelor's or above in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar.
Base Pay Range: 
$140,000—$216,000 USD
