The Senior Accountant is a highly-motivated professional who serves as a key member of the Accounting organization. The senior accountant will have strong abilities in various accounting functions, including, revenue recognition and customer billing, and general ledger controls. This position requires someone who continually demonstrates ownership of various functions within the accounting team while staying organized, and who steers to consistently perform and has a desire and capability to advance in future roles. This person also enjoys engaging with other functions, notably the commercial team, to ensure a good understanding of commercial terms and customer contracting.#LI-Remote; #LI-IB1

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing and heading the company’s customer billing and revenue accounting process
  • Review revenue contracts and support customer service with invoice questions
  • Maintain revenue recognition policy, processes, and reporting
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Preparation of weekly cash burn
  • Identifying and driving process improvements within the areas of responsibility
  • Performs various monthly closing procedures; including journal entries, account reconciliations and preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Areas of responsibility include UK VAT reporting and rebates and credit memos
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments outside of Finance
  • Support the annual audit process by preparing revenue related schedules for external auditors
  • Performs other related duties as required

Skills Needed:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP) relating to revenue recognition
  • Ability to stay This position will require the candidate to be able to formulate working processes to ensure he/she stays organized
  • Self-starter with a high level of accountability and ownership
  • Effective time management – ability to handle multiple tasks by prioritize as needed
  • Agility – being able to adapt quickly to changing needs of the organization
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and function at a high level with minimal assistance and supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with team members at all levels and engage with cross functional staff as needed
  • Prior NetSuite experience a must
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Action-oriented, positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience with revenue recognition accounting
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of total relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years as a senior accountant in a high growth company environment
  • 2 years public company accounting background preferred

A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $90,000 to $110,000 per year, cash bonus, and stock options.
