Schedule: Complete tasks on your own time (including conducting interviews on weekdays, evenings, weekends, or summers). Must be available to review new applicants within a 48-hour window.

Hebrew Public is a fast-growing New York City-based network of diverse-by-design public charter schools that teach children of all backgrounds to become productive global citizens. Our schools are among the most racially and economically integrated in the nation. Our program model weaves together foreign language instruction, personalized learning, social and emotional learning, and academic rigor. Hebrew Public currently manages three schools in New York City and one school in Philadelphia.
The Opportunity
As a Teacher Screener, you will work closely with the network Talent team to screen and interview a diverse group of exceptional teachers for our New York and Philadelphia schools. This position will report directly to the Manager of Talent Operations. In this role you will support the selection of a highly-qualified teacher workforce. We will look to you to be a brand ambassador for the organization in all aspects of your work.
This position is virtual and part-time. Depending on the time of year, this could require about 5-10 hours a week. Work will occur during weekdays and evenings as well as weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Promote Hebrew Public as a unique place for educators, with its focus on global citizenship, diversity, social and emotional learning, and a rich intellectual life for teachers.
- Screen teacher candidates which includes: application review, phone screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
- Provide best in-class customer service for candidates
- Communicate regularly with Talent team and fellow teacher screeners
- Participate in Trainings
- Attend recruitment events in Philadelphia area is preferred but not required
- Other duties as assigned to support the general efficiency and operations of the Talent team.
Qualifications
- Must have experience as a lead teacher in an urban, charter, public and/or title I school setting in the Philadelphia area
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Comfortable using technology; training will be provided for Greenhouse, our applicant tracking system
- Access to a working phone and webcam for trainings and conducting interviews
- Experience interviewing teachers preferred by not required
- Ability to recognize and attract outstanding talent
- A strong work ethic and commitment to results
- Sense of humor
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Hourly rate: $30/hour. Screeners must maintain a time sheet of their hours worked and will submit those hours monthly
