Hebrew Public Charter Schools for Global Citizens

Our mission is to lead a national movement of public charter schools that teach Modern Hebrew to children of all backgrounds and prepare them to be successful global citizens. Our schools are models of racial and economic integration, academic excellence, and world language learning.  Hebrew Public manages schools in New York City and Philadelphia, and also supports an affiliate network of schools in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and Minnesota.

About the Role:

The Director of Network Operations plays a key role in driving operational excellence across our charter school network. This individual will manage critical compliance requirements, support school teams through consistent operational systems and tools, lead cross-team projects, and provide responsive support on school platforms.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive compensation package starting at $115,000, with potential for increases based on experience in similar roles.

Job Responsibilities:

School Support & Onboarding

  • Provide day-to-day operational support to school operations teams.
  • Support onboarding and training for new operations team members, including systems and process orientation.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to platforms such as PowerSchool, Clever, and ParentSquare.
  • Manage and support vendor relationships critical to school operations.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Coordinate and submit timely, accurate reports to Authorizers and state agencies, particularly in PA, NY, and CT.
  • Maintain documentation and track compliance deliverables across regions.
  • Support new school startup operations and associated regulatory requirements.

Project Management & Cross Departmental Support

  • Lead and manage cross-team projects that require coordination across our network teams.
  • Develop clear project plans, track milestones, and manage communication among stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, anticipate roadblocks, and drive resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Provide remote and onsite operational support for events and in-person trainings.

Operational Resources & Systems

  • Own updates and version control for key network resources.
  • Ensure resources are aligned with school needs and accessible to staff.
  • Continuously improve systems and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency across the network.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in charter school operations (either school- or network-level); experience with new school start-up or launching new campuses is a plus.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional workstreams.
  • A systems mindset: you see the big picture, but sweat the details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation—responsive, patient, and solution-driven.
  • High proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets; comfortable using data to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to come with a plan but pivot as the situation dictates.
  • Experience with school platforms such as PowerSchool, Clever, ParentSquare, and/or Tableau strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements in CT, PA, or NY is highly desired.
  • Must live in the greater NYC area and be able to occasionally travel to schools in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Philadelphia, and Stamford as needed.
