Business Systems Analyst (Commercial HVAC/R)

WHAT HELIOS NEEDS FROM YOU:

Financial Reporting & Analysis 

  • Support the monthly financial close, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. 
  • Maintain and distribute recurring financial and operational reports using Excel, DB Analytics, Domo, and SQL queries directly from the SamPro database. 
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to extract, validate, and reconcile ERP data for financial reporting and analysis. 
  • Analyze trends in job profitability, billing activity, WIP, accruals, and department-level performance to identify issues or opportunities. 
  • Prepare reporting packages for leadership, supporting budget-to-actual tracking and KPI dashboards. 
  • Assist in tracking margin performance and revenue workflows using ERP data and structured reporting logic. 
  • Ensure alignment and accuracy between SQL-based ERP data and downstream BI and reporting platforms. 

ERP & Systems Support 

  • Audit and manage master data within the SQL-based SamPro ERP environment, including GL codes, cost categories, client/vendor records, and job types, to ensure standardization and data governance. 
  • Monitor and support automated logic related to billing flags, margin calculations, work order exclusions, and job status changes. 
  • Serve as a key resource to the Finance team by developing subject matter expertise in SamPro system workflows, database structure, and reporting architecture. 
  • Support user access reviews and permission requests to maintain appropriate system controls. 
  • Test new system features, configuration updates, and workflow changes in coordination with IT and senior Finance staff. 
  • Participate in ERP implementation initiatives, including requirements gathering, data mapping, UAT testing, and validation efforts. 
  • Assist with data extraction, cleanup, and reconciliation activities in preparation for migration from a SQL-based ERP to a SaaS-based platform. 
  • Create and maintain system documentation, training materials, and SOPs for ERP processes. 
  • Assist users in Client Management and Operations with ERP navigation, job setup, billing workflows, and reporting access, including support through the systems ticketing process for non-IT SamPro issues. 
  • Ensure operational processes remain consistent and scalable across job functions. 

Data Integration & Reporting Tools 

  • Monitor data flows between SamPro, Domo, DB Analytics, and Excel-based models to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity. 
  • Troubleshoot delays or discrepancies in SQL queries, database views, and automated data feeds, escalating issues when necessary. 
  • Support development and optimization of dashboards in Domo and contribute to scalable reporting infrastructure aligned with future SaaS architecture. 
  • Act as a developing subject matter expert in Domo, supporting teams with report creation, troubleshooting, and data interpretation. 
  • Collaborate with IT and external partners on system integrations and data migration efforts related to ERP modernization and SaaS transition initiatives. 

Client Management & Operations Collaboration 

  • Work directly with Client Management and Operations to resolve job costing issues, incomplete work order data, and invoice exceptions.
  • Provide operational teams with reports and insights to improve visibility into margin health, billing timelines, and financial performance. 
  • Participate in meetings to understand business needs and translate operational activity into accurate financial reporting logic within ERP and BI systems. 
  • Partner with internal teams to implement process improvements that reduce manual intervention, improve system efficiency, and support long-term ERP modernization. 

WHAT SETS YOU APART:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field 
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance, accounting, ERP systems, data analytics, or systems support; internship experience welcome 
  • Experience working in a SQL-based ERP environment; SamPro strongly preferred 
  • Intermediate SQL proficiency, including ability to write queries for data extraction, validation, and reporting 
  • Exposure to ERP implementation, system upgrades, data migration, or SaaS transition projects preferred 
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Domo, Power BI, or similar BI platforms 
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and formulas; comfortable working with large datasets 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and financial data clearly to non-finance users 
  • Collaborative and analytical mindset with interest in improving financial processes, system workflows, and supporting ERP modernization initiatives

  • must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in fast paced or high-pressure environments

Helios HVAC/R Services LLC determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
