What is special about this role?

The Helix Solutions team is essential to the success of every Health System and Patient: from understanding the big picture workflows to verifying every detail is correct at launch, and even customizing our systems to match the occasional unique requirement. Our team collaborates closely with Design, Product, Engineering, Clinical, Commercial, Customer Support, and many others to build and maintain the software that drives our Helix Research Network and Clinical Diagnostics.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Solutions, you will:

  • Collaborate and deeply understand user and business needs
  • Create diagrams, workflows, and technically accurate descriptions
  • Own deliverables from ideas to feature completion and production deployment
  • Design, architect, and implement internal tools that enable Helix to leverage automation and self service
  • Be responsible for code that spans multiple domains across frontend, backend, and testing
  • Improve and adopt exceptional engineering practices for the organization
  • Care about testing, validation, and correctness to guarantee success for our health system partners and their patients

About you:

  • 7+ years development experience in Go, Python, Typescript, Javascript, Java, or similar
  • Uses AI assistance when writing code and working on projects
  • Able to build things iteratively, delivering value at every step
  • Proven track record of successful project deliveries
  • Willing to work onsite in Mexico City for at least one day each week
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Pluses:

  • Experience successfully using AI to solve problems and tasks
  • Bachelor/Master of Science in Computer Science
  • Familiarity with regulated software systems (e.g. HIPAA, ISO, FDA, SOC2)
  • Previous experience in Customer Support or User facing roles

Expected Pay For This Role:

There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary  2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity 

Expected Helix Base: $1,040,000 - 1,410,000 (MXN)

The salary range above is our reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role across your region. Actual starting pay will be based on non-discriminatory job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about your specific work location salary range during the hiring process.

Office Location:

Our office is located at the WeWork - Varsovia, Mexico City 

  • We gather intentionally in our office space once per week to work on things like pair programming/live collaboration, skillshare sessions, social segments, team lunches, and volunteering opportunities.

What To Expect During Your Onboarding Week:

We want to make sure your first week is spent learning the foundations. You will be invited to live orientation sessions and spend time with your hiring manager developing your individual roadmap to success. This experience will include sessions that cover your benefits, security & privacy training, an introduction to the OKR framework used at Helix and our communication tools and norms. 

What To Expect During Your First 90 days:

First 30 days:  you’ll spend time learning the Helix way, completing training and onboarding for your roles, and getting introduced to your team and relevant stakeholders. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of our customers, our products, the impact we make in the lives of our communities, and how to thrive at Helix through participation in Helix U.  

Day 30 - 60: you’ll spend time contributing to projects, deeply familiarizing yourself with team and company processes, and developing a deeper understanding of Helix’s products, services and capabilities.

Day 60 - 90: you’ll build your OKRs with your manager, start to take ownership of projects and initiatives on your team, and begin to demonstrate your impact on the Helix mission.
