Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

Tend is looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead our Finance team and drive a strategic financial planning process to ensure we achieve our financial and company growth goals. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director will be based out of our Nashville office and work a hybrid schedule. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving financial outcomes. Develop and maintain financial models to support business objectives.
  • Utilize Looker to design and develop interactive dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights into financial performance and key metrics.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather data, understand operational needs, and provide financial guidance. Partner with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives.
  • Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve financial planning processes, reporting systems, and tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Manage a team of two Financial Analysts

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights and driving financial performance.
  • Proficiency in Looker or other data visualization and reporting tools. Advanced Excel skills are also required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Healthcare, insurance or multi-unit organization experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work collaboratively within a team environment.
