Helper Rate: $18.33 per hour
We are seeking a dependable helper to assist an elderly gentleman diagnosed with dementia. The primary focus of this role is supervision and safety, as he has a history of wandering, leaving the house unsupervised, and attempting to drive.
The helper will help ensure he remains safe while providing companionship and calm support.
Care Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to prevent wandering and falls
- Monitor the home environment for safety risks
- Offer companionship and engagement
- Ensure the client does not leave the home or attempt to drive unsupervised
- Provide general support and reassurance when needed
- On-call schedule
- Flexible shifts depending on family needs
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with dementia care preferred
- Patient, calm, and attentive
- Able to redirect and supervise clients safely
- Reliable and observant
This role is best suited for a caregiver experienced in dementia supervision who can remain attentive and calm while ensuring the client’s safety and preventing wandering behaviors.
